Conversion House Heldritt
A simple post-war replacement building was found in a rural area of Frankonia. In close cooperation with the client, the needs and potential of the existing building were analyzed and a tailor-made concept was developed, which adapts the makeshift home to today’s requirements by means of sensitive interventions.
Without changing the footprint of the building, a new pitched roof on the previous extension building enhances the spatial quality of the existing structure and enables the building to be reconfigured. The extended roof cantilevers allow the building to be used outside even in bad weather. The new roof shape blends naturally into the village context.
Individual enclosures define the perimeter between the private space and the neighborhood.
In addition to the existing building, the client has his own woodland at his disposal. The wood obtained from this is used for parts of the construction as well as the façade cladding. This gives shape to the energy refurbishment and gives the building a relationship with the barn on the same plot.
